The first of six Talent Academy sessions hosted at King William’s College will be on this coming Sunday (16th October) for selected young local players aged 13 up to those in school year 13 (under 18 on 1/09/22).

Sessions will be led by England Hockey Talent Academy Coaches with local coaches currently involved in coaching Island squads, or aspiring to join the coaching teams, acting as assistant coaches.

This initiative offers the players the chance to work with Talent Academy coaches, gives the local players already selected to attend EH’s West Lancs. Talent Academy to have extra contact time with the coaches, others to enjoy focussing on their hockey for 5 or 6 hours and for local coaches to upskill and take the knowledge gained back to their squads. Additional players may be invited to join the group as the season progresses.

Each session will include a one-hour break for lunch and tactical discussions.

Sunday 16th October times are 9am to 3pm with lunch break at midday.

Spectators are welcome to the pitch sessions  – please watch from outside of the pitch fence if attending and note that no vehicles are permitted beyond the “no entry” sign on the roadway to the pitch.  Please use either of the two car parks to the front of the school.
