England Hockey and the MHA believe that all young people have the right to be safe and enjoy their hockey. We all have a duty to safeguard and protect young people from harm. All hockey clubs/organisations must have policies and procedures in place to create a safe environment.
SafeGuard has been created by EH to provide role-specific safeguarding information for all involved in hockey activity dependent on their role. You can access all of the information here: https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/governance/duty-of-care-in-hockey/safeguard
EH Safeguarding Courses (this will involve log in to hockey hub) – https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/governance/duty-of-care-in-hockey/safeguard/training
Safe Hockey Online Module (this will involve log in) – EH advised that all coaches working with U18s should complete this online course. It is free and gives some very good advice, including ratios for adult coaches to junior players – https://hockeyhub.englandhockey.co.uk
