The Manx Hockey Association have announced that Neil Crowe has been appointed as the new Isle of Man Men’s Hockey team coach, taking over the position from Jon Whiting. Jon Whiting served as coach for 9 years, most recently successfully leading the squad to a 4th place finish in the 2023 England Hockey County Championships, in division A after promotion the previous season.

The Isle of Man Men’s Hockey team are playing in the England Hockey Tier 2 cup competition against Timperley 2’s on Saturday 28 October, with push back at the NSC at 1pm. Timperley’s first team play National League hockey, with their second team playing in the North West Premier League and expected to provide a stern test for the Island team.

Neil Crowe said “First of all I would like to thank Jon for his time and effort over the years. I hope I can help to build upon the recent achievements and I’m excited for my first fixture as coach this weekend. I’ve been really pleased with the players in recent training sessions, and the level of competition for places in the team is as strong as I can remember. I believe we have enough quality in the Isle of Man that we should aim to win the Tier 2 cup competition. I’m looking forward to working with the training squad over the season and trying to replicate (or better) the performance in the County Championships.”
