In an exciting development for Manx hockey, several local talents have been selected to attend the Northwest Talent Academy for the 2024-2025 cycle, following their impressive performances during recent assessments.

Among the boys chosen are Ross Grimley, Douglas Quayle, Cameron Roome, and Liam Taverner, all of whom have demonstrated significant promise on the field. On the girls’ side, the Isle of Man will be represented by Ela Blakemore, Lucy Cartwright, Summer Craig, and Evie Watterson.

In addition, both Archie Cox and Ethan Adams, though still age-eligible for this year, have opted to step away as they focus on their final year of school. Archie Cox continues to excel in the DiSE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence) programme, and Evie Watterson will join him this year as the newest DiSE athlete, marking another key achievement for Manx hockey.

The Northwest Talent Academy is renowned for developing young athletes with the potential to excel at higher levels of competition, and the selection of these Manx players highlights the growing strength of hockey on the island.
