Manx Hockey Association has appointed Rachel Andrew as Hockey Development Officer, strengthening the sport’s capacity to grow participation, support clubs, and develop coaches and officials across the Island.
Rachel is a long-standing supporter of Manx Hockey and brings directly relevant experience, having previously served as Isle of Man Netball Development Officer for more than three years. Her background in club support, school engagement, and volunteer development will be applied to hockey with immediate effect.

Initial priorities
- Increase junior and youth participation through school and community programmes
- Support club growth with practical toolkits, coach education, and volunteer pathways
- Promote hockey’s accessibility and year-round appeal through targeted campaigns

The Isle of Man Hockey season starts soon, which makes now an ideal time to get involved. New and returning players of all ages and abilities are welcome at the six Manx hockey clubs:
- Castletown in the south
- Valkyrs in the west
- Ramsey in the north
- Harlequins, Vikings, and Bacchas in Douglas and the east of the Island
