Joseph Savage (formerly Castletown HC and Isle of Man u16 captain, now Exeter University) was delighted to be chosen as part of the squad to play in the recent Scotland u21s v Ulster u23s Series over the Easter weekend (4th-6th April 2026) in Glasgow.

Joseph played in all 3 games and even managed to get on the scoresheet for his first international goal. Scotland claimed victory in the Series after a shootout win, with the teams even after 3 games.

The Series offered a good opportunity for those players chosen for the Men’s Scotland Development Programme to get in some important game time leading up to the European u21 tournament to be held in July in the Czechia.

Joseph commented: “I was really pleased to have taken part in the Series after missing the u18 Euros last summer due to injury. I hope to push on during the next few months of training in the hope of getting selected for the u21 Euros in July. I especially want to thank Isle of Man Sport Aid for their continued support, as well as Manx Hockey and Scottish Hockey, all of which have contributed to me being able to progress my hockey career.”
